What is the fluid in a hydrocele?

The fluid inside a hydrocele is a clear or pale yellow body fluid called serous fluid. This fluid is normally produced in small amounts to lubricate tissues. A hydrocele forms when this fluid builds up because it's either overproduced or not properly drained by the body.
