Is it normal to have discharge after hysterectomy?

Yes, it is completely normal and expected to have some vaginal discharge for several weeks following your hysterectomy. As the internal stitches at the top of the vagina (the vaginal cuff) dissolve and the area heals, you will likely notice a discharge that can be watery, bloody, brownish, or even yellowish. This is simply a sign that your body is healing.
